Beautiful wine bearer

O beautiful wine-bearer, bring forth the cup and put it to my lips
Path of love seemed easy at first, what came was many hardships.
With its perfume, the morning breeze unlocks those beautiful locks
The curl of those dark ringlets, many hearts to shreds strips.
In the house of my Beloved, how can I enjoy the feast
Since the church bells call the call that for pilgrimage equips.
With wine color your robe, one of the old Magi’s best tips
Trust in this traveler’s tips, who knows of many paths and trips.
The dark midnight, fearful waves, and the tempestuous whirlpool
How can he know of our state, while ports house his unladen ships.
I followed my own path of love, and now I am in bad repute
How can a secret remain veiled, if from every tongue it drips?
If His presence you seek, Hafiz, then why yourself eclipse?
Stick to the One you know, let go of imaginary trips.

Keep Thinking about God

Hafiz

My dear,
Keep thinking about God,
Keep thinking about the Beloved
And soon our nest will be the
Whole firmament.

Forget about all your desires for truth,
We have gone far beyond that,
For now it is just
Pure need.

Both our hearts are meant to sing.
Both our souls are destined to touch
and kiss

Upon the holy flute
God carries.

I have Learned so Much By Hafiz

I
Have
Learned
So much from God
That I can no longer
Call
Myself

A Christian, a Hindu, a Muslim,
A Buddhist, a Jew.

The Truth has shared so much of Itself
With me

That I can no longer call myself
A man, a woman, an angel,
Or even pure
Soul.

Love has
Befriended Hafiz so completely
It has turned to ash
And freed
Me

Of every concept and image
My mind has ever known.

The Guardians of Beauty

By Hafiz
"We are the guardians of His Beauty
We are the protectors
Of the Sun.

There is only one reason
We have followed God into this world:
To encourage laughter, freedom, dance
And love.

Let a noble cry inside of you speak to me
Saying, "Hafiz,
Don't just sit there on the moon tonight
Doing nothing -

Help unfurl my heart into the Friend's Mind,
Help, Old Man, to heal my wounded wings!"
We are the companions of His Beauty
We are the guardians
Of Truth.

Every man, plant and creature in Existence,
Every woman, child, vein and note
Is a servant of our Beloved -

A harbinger of joy,
The harbinger of
Light."

How Did The Rose

"How
did the rose
ever open its heart
and give to this world all of its beauty?
It felt the encouragement of light against its being,
otherwise we all remain too
frightened." Hafiz

There is much we can see in the rose,  as she reflects our own inner being. She contains all the beauty and grace of our hearts, offering a delight for our soul and all of our senses. She opens her petals with the radiance of the sun's light and is nourished by water and our admiration of her beauty. She is protected from life with her thorns and despite that we handle her delicately and with much tenderness.
Hafiz reminds us here that the rose is like our souls,  opening with Gods love. If we do the same we can offer the world the highest part of ourselves. We must examine what stands in the way for us to offer our love ? How do we become like a rose ?

The Woman I Love by Hafiz

Because the Woman I love lives
Inside of you,

I lean as close to your body with my words
As I can -

And I think of you all the time, dear pilgrim.

Because the One I love goes with you
Wherever you go,
Hafiz will always be near.

If you sat before me, wayfarer,
With your aura bright from your many
Charms,

My lips could not resist rushing to you and needing
To befriend your blushed cheek,

But my eyes can no longer hide
The wondrous fact of who
You really are.

The Beautiful One whom I adore
Has pitched His royal tent inside of you,

So I will always lean my heart
As close to your soul
As I can.

The Day Sky

Let us be like

Two falling stars in the day sky.

Let no one know of our sublime beauty

As we hold hands with God

And burn

Into a sacred existence that defies -

That surpasses

Every description of ecstasy

And love.
